Motion Graphics
Likelihood
Overview
Likelihood is a streetwear boutique in South Lake Union. The owners contracted me as their brand designer for two weeks while their designer was on leave.
Mizuno was introduced to Likelihood the day I arrived. I photographed the shoes and used the imagery to create social media and email marketing assets.
The Adidas x Willy Chavarria social posts and story contained a mixture of the editorial shoot they produced and detail e-commerce shots I photographed on a Canon 7D.
The motion and color usage were inspired by Miró’s own artwork. I started with a motion graphic with basic shapes, and it evolved into an email marketing graphic (right side).
I drew inspiration for the graphics from the Nike Total 90 Shox Magia. I built out the motion graphics in After Effects and decided to push for fluid motion to mirror Nike’s branding.

Problem
I was briefed daily on social media and email assets for three to five brands or collections, usually one or two stories and one carousel a day. Each brand had a short turnaround, and a new brief came in every day.
The brief was to keep the aesthetic Likelihood already had. Motion was absent from their feed, so I decided to include more of it.
Research & Audience
Likelihood’s audience is younger, trendier fashionistas who look for brands such as Stüssy, Neighborhood and Nike. Email marketing targets the same audience.
There wasn’t a true brand guideline to follow, so I stayed true to their social media presence: minimal color, sans serif type only, and trendier photography, usually marketing assets provided by the brands.
Building the System
Most brands only sent e-commerce product shots, which I styled into an editorial social post or story, then reformatted into an email marketing banner.
The owners loved the motion graphics, which their feed hadn’t had before.
